Ashanti Douglas, popularly called Ashanti and born in Glen Cove New York United States 13 October 1980. She is an actress and singer of the United States. Ashanti started her career as a teenager and ultimately signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. That same year she made an appearance on The Fat Joe's What's Luv? track as well as Ja Rule's Always on Time track. Both have become huge hit songs. She became the first female artist who held the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at first place and the track What's Luv? What's Luv? The Ashanti family can commemorate her special day here. Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, better known as Ashanti, was born on the 13th of October the 13th of October, 1980 from Glen Cove New York. Tina Douglas' mother was the dance instructor, while Ken-Kaide, who is the father of Ashanti Douglas is also a vocalist. Kenashia Shia is her younger sister. Douglas has named her in honour of the Ashanti Empire in Ghana where women had power and influence and Douglas wanted Ashanti to model that same pattern. James her father was a prominent civil rights activist who worked with Martin Luther King Jr. during the 1960s. Her mother was aware of the talent of her daughter when she overheard her singing Mary J. Blige's Reminisce. Ashanti was a child actor as Spike Lee's Malcolm X and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? She also appeared in numerous music videos like K.R.S. Act One's MCs Don't They Know or 8-Off Ghetto Girls. After receiving offers from record companies such as Bad Boy and Jive, Ashanti was unable to establish herself as a singer who was successful. However, she continued to perform throughout New York and began hanging around the Murder Inc. recording studio in hopes of securing a big break. Ashanti originally appeared on the Big Pun song How We Roll as a backing vocalist. Ashanti sang as well on Fat Joe's track"What's Luv?" as well as Ja Rule's Never On Time. The first single from Ashanti, Foolish the song by DeBarge's Me of 1983 is used as a sample. Ashanti's self-titled first album was launched in 2002 by Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. record label. The Declaration her fourth studio album was launched on June 3, 2008. On the 16th of October Hey Baby (After the Club) was released to stations and digital platforms. She starred in the film Christmas in the City and appeared as Latasha of Montclair's character in Army Wives. Aitch played Rock wit U in his Baby 10th March 2022 song.
